What was the key driver of your growth in 2024?
I believe the majority of my growth was the GLP-1 program. I was very excited to bring this program to my community as we faced huge shortages here in Michigan when it became increasingly popular.
I have been on a GLP-1 medication for weight loss since 2022 and feel like I can provide a great service because of my personal knowledge not only as a nurse but as a user as well.
Where did the majority of your clients come from?
Majority of my clients come from my community. Living in rural Michigan providing services to the community I have lived in my entire life is very important and close to my heart.
When I started Elivate I was still working as an ER nurse in hospital. It is so awesome to see the same people in the community come to me for preventative wellness and aesthetic services.
Do you have nurses working for you?
I do have RN’s that work through my business. Each of them have been taught to market themselves I market the business and they market themselves as an Elivate nurse. They can choose to be as busy as they want to be. I take all inquiries from social media and calls. If I am unable to fulfill the appointment time, I pass it along to another RN. I would like my RN’s to be busier to get the good word out, but they still work in hospital and use this as their “fun work”.
Which service have you found the most success with?
GLP-1 services are very high on my success list. My price point is still lower than what clients go to the big box pharmacy to get the medications when they are available.
Secondly would be IM shots. I have a large group of people who have been faithful since day one. They see and feel the difference when they miss shots from week to week for whatever reason.
What did you do to gain those clients
Word of mouth is huge for gaining new clients. I utilize Facebook Meta for my business site and share to multiple groups in my local area. I visit schools, daycares, physical therapy offices. People like the personal care we provide and follow up is important to include in services no matter how big or small. I laugh about having no boundaries with clients as I may answer a question at 10:30 at night when I should be sleeping or not “doing business”. It’s hard to turn your nurse mentality off at 5/6pm when you are dedicated to clients AND what you are doing. It’s working for now- 2 plus years in :)
Are you mobile or do you have a location?
I started with only mobile in 2022. That lasted about 4 months when all of my supplies started taking over my home. It was time to do a brick and mortar. I have been at the same location since. I still provide mobile services weekly as well. I have set days and times I am in surrounding towns and let clients know where they are able to meet me for services. It’s a win win for everyone.
Local businesses that allow me to come in and use their space, most of the business owners.
Do you price your patient specific services lower to get more volume?
When I looked at starting this business in summer of 2022, I did a lot of research. Found closest place to me who offered similar services and looked at other states and similar demographics to make sure I was not too high or low
with my pricing. I actually have thought about doing an increase on some of the vitamin injections and infusions this year as it is getting harder to get some of our vitamins at the same price as when I started.
Or do you marketing to the "elite"
I would love to market to “elite” , I just don’t have that type of clientele around me. I had thought about reaching out to some D2 college athletes but as of now, my bandwidth is small, and it makes me nervous I won’t be able to deliver.
Baby steps!!
What does your competition look like?
I am located in rural Michigan, there wasn’t much competition when I started. Other people saw the popularity and decided to open similar businesses. Competition is good, I like to say we are able to provide a complete beauty and wellness package.
Do you rely on affiliates? If so, how impactful have they been to your success?
I do not have any affiliates, nor do I have anyone speak on behalf of my business in return for any compensation.
My growth and success has come 100% from my team and I providing a memorable experience, booking 2nd bookings in person before they leave the chair, and word of mouth within my network.
